A leading expert in food hygiene has made an announcement
that tea-towels will soon be banned in kitchens!

A report which sampled 1500 catering and retail food outlet’s
found that many cloths being used in kitchens contained salmonella
and campylobacter bugs.

Despite the most up to date food safety management systems being
practiced in many establishments, kitchen cloths remain to be
one of the most problematic areas for food hygiene and cross-contamination
due to the amount of bacteria hibernating in them. Look out
because spot checks could be a mandatory procedure if the authorities
have their way in New Zealand.
